Asiatic New year (Chinese, Korean, mongolian, tibetan and vietnamese) it is the first day of the lunar calendar; in this year 2010 is the day 14th of February. Scientifically is incorrect call to this festival new year, the real name is Lunar New Year. Nowadays It is very popular celebrated this new year in every ChinaTowns in the world' cities (New york, London, Japan, etc.)
It's amazing can see how an occidental city change, and don't mind
celebrate an asian festival; normaly in these cities there are many asian people so it's very common.
I could see anything when I was in one chinatown some week ago, but I couldn't see the festival.
